Dream Debut: Joss Delivers a Standout Drive at Silverstone

Joss made an unforgettable start to his Champions of the Future Academy UK campaign,  competing in the first major event held at the brand new Kart Silverstone circuit.

Taking to the track alongside a 30 driver grid of elite young talent, Joss was not only racing against some of the UK’s best, but also an incredibly diverse international field, with competitors travelling from Canada, UAE, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, the USA, and South Africa.

On track, Joss delivered a standout performance across the weekend.

Saturday began strongly with an excellent P5 in qualifying, placing him firmly among the front runners. In the first ever Mini 60 race at Kart Silverstone, Joss rose to the occasion, storming through to claim a superb P3 finish.

An unfortunate mechanical issue on the formation of Heat 2 meant he was unable to continue, but Joss bounced back in the final to finish P7, collecting valuable championship points.

Sunday brought new challenges. After qualifying P11, Joss produced consistent drives in the heats, finishing P9 and P10. In the final, held in extremely wet conditions, Joss misjudged the grip on the formation lap and spun onto the grass, forcing him to start from the very back of the field.

What followed was one of the drives of the weekend. From dead last, Joss charged through the pack, gaining 18 places in a single lap to reach P10, showcasing exceptional racecraft, composure, and determination in treacherous conditions.

Despite the earlier DNF, Joss leaves the opening round sitting 10th in the championship standings, a strong position that reflects both his pace and resilience.

The weekend at Silverstone not only marked a historic first event at the new circuit but also highlighted Joss Huschka as a driver to watch as the season progresses.
